Mondays are marvelous in The Children’s Garden! Join us for entertainment and educational presentations from puppeteers to local children’s book authors. Included in admission; free for members.
All activities take place outdoors and are weather dependent. Families are encouraged to socially distance during presentations. Activities coinciding with presentations are also optional as "take home" project kits.
July 6: Storytime with children’s book author Kevin McCloskey, “The Real Poop on Pigeons” and “We Dig Worms.” McCloskey will read his books and demonstrate drawing techniques.
July 13: “The Enormous Potato” storytime, plus, kids will receive a kit to grow their own potato at home.
July 20: Learn about what makes an insect during our “Am I An Insect?” game. Plus, build your own bugs using natural materials.
July 27: Kids can learn about carnivorous plants - and receive a fun craft kit to take home!
August 3: Children’s book author Chrysa M. Smith reads her book “The UpSide Down Gardener.”
August 10: Join ZooAmerica as they present “Paws, Claws, Scales & Tails,” which focuses on the adaptations animals use for survival in the wild.
