Gardener, Part-Time, Weekends
Performs all facets of weekend gardening and maintenance tasks at Hershey Gardens under the supervision of the Director of Horticultural Operations, Horticulture Manager or Lead Gardener.
Major Job Duties
Perform weekend grounds maintenance and gardening duties as assigned. These duties include but are not limited to weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, edging, mowing, trimming, trash collection and snow removal.
Assist with the set-up and tear-down of special activities and events as needed. Perform facility-related assignments as directed.
Position Requirements
· Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
· Demonstrated skill in oral and written communications
· Demonstrated ability to consistently represent Hershey Gardens and The M.S. Hershey Foundation in a positive, professional manner
· Demonstrated ability to problem solve and perform duties in public situations
· Must be able to move between Foundation properties when necessary
· Work may be performed in a variety of outdoor and indoor environments and weather conditions
· Requires physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds and extended periods of standing and walking
· High school diploma or equivalent required, horticultural experience preferred
