In addition to scorpions\, tarantulas\, millipedes and cockroaches\, this year’s event also features small native and exotic reptiles and amphibians\, including snakes\, lizards\, frogs\, geckos and more. \nSpecial guests include Ryan the Bug Man with a variety of native and exotic insects\, Pennsylvania Bat Rescue with live bats\, and Refreshing Mountain Wildlife Center with a Green Tree Python\, Blue Tongue Skink and baby American Alligator. \nGuests can also enjoy the Zoology Zone Interactive Cart as well as games and crafts. Plus\, Sarah’s Creamery will be selling ice cream treats! \n\n10 a.m. to 12 p.m. – PA Bat Rescue with live bats\n10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Face painting ($5 cash only)\n11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Refreshing Mountain Wildlife Center\n2 p.m. – puppet show\n\n Bug-O-Rama is included in general admission\, which includes entrance to the Butterfly Atrium.

DESCRIPTION:Guests can enjoy live music by Segno\, a string duet consisting of Harpist Sylvia Sweigert\, and Hammered Dulcimer player LillieMae Sweigert. \nThe name is a musical term referring to the beginning and end of a repeat in an arrangement. They are enrolled in a fine arts and University Scholars program in West Chester\, PA. They are members of the Harrisburg Harp Orchestra\, playing in the greater Harrisburg and Philadelphia Area. \nThey play a wide range of music such as Broadway tunes\, popular songs\, Celtic favorites\, American folk\, classical pieces\, and familiar hymns. The duet often composes their own arrangements\, to suit the occasion. Sylvia plays a Lyon & Healy Prelude 38\, and LillieMae plays a custom James Jones 4/19/21/9 Hammered Dulcimer.

DESCRIPTION:Adult Education: Beginning a Botanical Sketchbook\nSaturday\, October 1 from 9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.\nJoin botanical artist and illustrator Margaret Saylor in a fun introduction to starting and maintaining your personal botanical sketchbook. Margaret will guide participants in what botanical illustration is\, how to make observations\, and share her techniques. The class also includes time to sketch outdoors\, please dress accordingly. A recommended art material list will be provided to class participants. \n  \nMargaret is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists\, as well as the Philadelphia Society of Botanical Illustrators\, and has exhibited with both groups. Since 2013\, she has been the Editor/Designer of The Botanical Artist\, the quarterly journal of the American Society of Botanical Art. Working primarily in watercolor on vellum and egg tempera\, Margaret specializes in mushrooms\, fungi and woodland plants.
