“A Day in the Life of an Eastern Woodland Indian”
October 1 to 31
What was life like for the Eastern Woodland Indians? Join us for a fun, hands-on program that will explore the important role of nature in their everyday life. Students will learn how the Eastern Woodland Indians used natural resources to feed, clothe, and shelter their families. Your class can help furnish a wigwam, grind corn, and handle regional artifacts.

“Amazing Butterflies”
Late May through late September
This popular program shows children some of the unique characteristics that make this beautiful insect a favorite of many. Students will experience the five senses of the butterfly and examine them using scientific method and tools. A tour of the Butterfly House is a highlight of the trip.
“Green Thumbs”
Mid-April to Mid- May; June, July, August
Your students will cultivate their own green thumbs as they explore the importance of living plants. Planting a seed to take home, tending to our garden and examining plants up close are some the activities your students will enjoy.
“The Remarkable Rainforest “
Mid-March through Mid-April; November
Students will discover the difference between a tropical rainforest and the forest at Hershey Gardens, and come away with an appreciation for the many riches we receive from the forests. Students will also learn how chocolate is dependant on products that come from the rainforest and explore the garden to find signs of chocolate.

Scavenger Hunt - A self-guided way to help your students find the hidden gems at Hershey Gardens.
Journal Activity - Students use map skills to find their secret area to write and sketch what they see.

Fees:
$5 per student
1 free adult for every 10 students
$8 per additional adults
Fees include your choice of one program and admission to the Gardens for the day.

Program Information
Programs and activity sessions are offered Monday through Friday on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs in September and May are only offered at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. We can accommodate up to three classes at a time.
Programs last 1½ hours.
