Homeschool Day at Hershey Gardens
Students can explore the Eastern Woodland Native American Interactive Exhibit from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., as they discover the important role of nature in the everyday life of the Eastern Woodland Native American. Students will learn how Native Americans used natural resources to feed, clothe and shelter themselves, as they grind their own corn, use pump drills, and handle regional artifacts. Storytelling and a craft will also be incorporated for the younger crowd.
ZooAmerica will feature native Pennsylvania species from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Students will learn about animals that inhabit the hills and woodlands of Pennsylvania. Zoo staff will give an informative presentation that includes living animals.
Additionally, Homeschool Day admission includes entrance into the indoor Butterfly Atrium and exterior 23 acres.
